Originally as sponsors of the Argentinian national racing team – Escuderia Suixtil, the popularity of the brand spread across Europe and Fangio, Moss and Gonzalez were just a few of the famous and extremely successful drivers who proudly wore the Suixtil brand in the 1950s and ‘60s. Time passed and increasing safety regulations meant drivers no longer raced in polo shirts and so the Suixtil brand began to fade. What remained was a photographic archive which bore testament to its rich heritage and clearly showed the garments in the collection. Ten years ago Vincent Metais combined a love of motorsport, a passion for this era of racing and his sourcing contacts to revive the Suixtil brand and to restart production.
