The Ferrari 250 GTO is a legendary sports car built from 1962 to 1964 to compete in Group 3 Grand Touring car racing. Only 36 original examples were ever manufactured. The FIA required 100 cars to be built for racing, so Enzo Ferrari bypassed this by numbering the cars out of sequence and claiming they were evolutions of the existing Ferrari 250 GT SWB.
