Uli Ehret Greetings Card - Dunrod Drifters

£3.00

Printed from original artwork by renowned motoring artist Uli Ehret, this delightful greetings card depicts a fictional racing scene from the 1955, Dundrod Tourist Trophy race for sports cars.

The race was Jaguar and Mercedes' preparation for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Jaguar introduced the disc brake to motorsports here, and Mercedes-Benz countered this technical revolution with the air brake – the rear cover of the Mercedes was positioned in the wind and acted like a parachute as an air brake. On the winding and narrow Dundrod street circuit, four weeks before the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Jaguar left all its competitors behind.

The race is led by an Aston Martin DB3S, which is currently being harassed by Mike Hawthorn's Jaguar D-Type. On the crest behind it, a Maserati 450S is being attacked by the Mercedes 300 SLR.

The cards comes complete with an envelope. The card is blank inside for your own messsage.
