Classic Racing Car Oats and Honey Biscuits

£8.00

A lovely gift for the motoring fan, delicious oats and honey biscuits in a drum featuring the red Birkin Blower Bentley.

The artwork on the drum is by renowned motoring artist Robin Bark and features the red Blower Bentley raced by Sir Henry Birkin in the 1920s and is filled with our oats and honey biscuits.

Henry Birkin started racing at Brooklands Race Circuit in 1921, by 1927 he was racing Bentleys and became one of the famous 'Bentley Boys'. Frustrated by the lack of speed he designed a turbo charger to sit at the front of the engine, increasing the BHP from 110 to 175, although this did increase the fuel consumation to 4 litres per minute at full speed.. The Blower Bentley and Birkin enjoyed great but brief success, even winning the Le Mans 24 hour race, before Birkin's death in 1933.
