1745 Small Vaugondy Globe

See the world with Eighteenth Century eyes with our miniature historic globe dating back to 1745, perfect for the desk or shelf.

Father, Gilles Robert de Vaugondy, and son, Didier Robert de Vaugondy, were the leading map makers in France during the 1700s. Didier was appointed geographer to Louis XV in 1760 and published globes of various sizes, the biggest with a diameter of 2.6m. Our replica is rather smaller but features the same historical detail as the originals and makes a lovely gift and desk accessory.

The globe is presented in a lovely decorative box.

Made from printed gores which are hand applied to a papier mache core.
